Data sources & attribution
Different observations. Original context. Traceable sources.
USGS Earthquake Hazards Program
Source: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/v1.0/summary/all_month.geojson. Summary feeds are officially updated every minute. We preserve longitude, latitude, depth order, null magnitudes, occurrence and update times, status, significance and the tsunami flag. USGS earthquake data is generally public domain; third-party material can have separate restrictions.
NASA EONET v3
Source: eonet.gsfc.nasa.gov/api/v3/events/geojson?status=all&days=30. Categories are checked against the official v3 catalog. EONET curates natural event reports; its catalog status is not a current hazard assessment. Point and area geometries are preserved. Check linked original sources for their own terms.
GDACS
Source: www.gdacs.org/gdacsapi/api/Events/geteventlist/latest. International alert levels are shown using their original Green, Orange and Red designations. This feed is optional and isolated from USGS/NASA failures. Availability and completeness are shown in the explorer source status. Attribution: GDACS, a cooperation framework between the United Nations and the European Commission. Consult GDACS conditions before downstream redistribution.
Maps and boundaries
Natural Earth 1:50m administrative boundaries, public domain. They are served from this application, with no dependency on the OpenStreetMap public tile servers. Generalized boundaries may omit small islands and differ from legal or disputed boundaries. MapLibre GL JS is licensed under BSD-3-Clause. Configured external styles and tiles need their own commercial-use permissions and required attribution.
Storm coverage
MVP uses global reported storm events from NASA EONET and GDACS. NOAA National Hurricane Center forecast tracks, cones and advisories are not enabled. We do not generate forecast paths or claim complete global cyclone coverage.
